CHICAGO AFTER-SCHOOL SKYLINE FAQS

Where are classes being held? We now have three class locations in Chicago (maps below)
  • Lincoln Park Broadway After School Rehearsals are at the Greenhouse Theater Center located at 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614.
  • Andersonville Broadway After School Rehearsals are at the First Free Church Family Life Center located at 5255 N Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60640.
  • Ravenswood Broadway After School Rehearsals are at Dovetail Studios located at 2853 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

What will a typical rehearsal look like?
Actors will warm up with a dance, then move into learning the day's scheduled scenes, songs, and dances. At the end of the rehearsal they will review all the material from previous week's, in order of the show, to prepare for the final performance!

What is your refund policy in case our plans change?
In the event of an unforeseen date or location conflict, classes may be exchanged for a different class of equal value. If an alternative option can't be found two weeks before the start date, we can refund the cost, less a $25 administrative fee to cover credit card processing. There are no refunds less than two weeks before the class start date.

What does my actor need to wear/bring?
All actors should wear clothes that allow a full range of motion and dance friendly shoes (such as sneakers or a change of jazz shoes). Flip flops and sandals are not going to allow your actor to do their best footwork! All actors should bring a reusable water bottle. We ask actors bring a three-ring binder for their script along with a pencil to make notes. All families will be provided instructions for how to assemble a costume for the final show!

Do you have a late policy for pick up?

Yes, the late policy is $1/minute after rehearsals are scheduled to end. These payments can be made with cash or via our venmo account.
I’ve never heard of Skyline Children's Theater. Have you had classes in the city before?
Skyline was founded in 2004! For the last eighteen years, thousands of local children have participated in Skyline shows and enjoyed the chance to shine on stage! Most of our programs have been based on the North Shore and in Lake County, but in summer 2021 we launched our first city programs. We are thrilled for our second fall on the North Side of Chicago!

What safety measures are in place?
Skyline will follow local safety guidance established by the IDPH and CDC. It is our policy to follow the safety protocols of our partner locations. Please email skylinestudioschi@gmail.com with any specific questions for your location.

My child is very shy and has never been on stage before. Will Skyline be the right fit?
YES! Our instructors will work to bring your child out of their shell through a variety of activities designed to foster their creative expression. By the end of the session, they will be thoroughly prepared to sing, act, dance, and put on a show with their cast mates and new friends!
